Thanks to your support, and your vote, Demokratia took 6th place out of a total of 128 films submitted for the Cinemocracy Rocks! film contest sponsored by STARZ! and the Denver Film Festival.

John Knauff, Melissa Lane and Isaac J. Ramos attended the event with the other top 10 entries.  Josh Massaro, who was also one of Demokratia’s creators, was unable to attend as his wife Rebecca went into labor the prior day. The weather was cloudy but cool; a perfect summer evening for this event. There were many musical acts that opened up the film festival. Among them was the band “Apples in Stereo” who totally rocked! They were amazing and you should check them out on iTunes or at their website www.applesinstereo.com.

When the bands finished, we were asked to come on stage to be briefly introduced with the other filmmakers. The film were shown; the top 10 entries and 3 additional “special award” films. Go to http://www.cinemocracy.org/ for a complete list of the entries. At the conclusion of the film festival, we were asked to come back up on stage to briefly share a little bit about our film.

It was an incredible experience and Josh, Melissa, Isaac and John can’t thank you enough for supporting and voting for Demokratia! We’d also like to thank all those that we made this film possible; our Colorado Film School teacher Geoffrey Chadwicke, our families, and our spouses.

There were many good films shown at the Cinemocracy Film Festival and believe that Demokratia stood it’s ground as an entertaining, 5-minute short film.
